Who are the Krolvin?

The Krolvin have a vaguely ape-like appearance. They have long dexterous fingers capped by long nails and their skin is a grayish-blue color, they also have thick white hair covering their heads that spreads across their shoulders and down their backs. They have piercing, ink-black eyes and some are extraordinarily tall.

Teras Isle has struggled against the force of an invading Krolvin army.

Led by the Czag Dubra Moragda, backed by the weight of the Krolvin nation, and guided by the power of the blue rider comet overhead. The Krolvin hailed the celestial event as a harbinger of victories to come.

The brutality and bloodlust of the Krolvin are recorded at length by legions of dead citizens from every existing nation. The Krolvin are so vicious that they will put their own people beneath the question, a process only mindless hulks survive.

The Krolvin fight with savage skill, and they claim to draw their power from the blue comet blazing through the sky, calling upon it as they summon magical energy.

The Krolvin kill for the joy of killing, torture for the pleasure of hearing the screams, and take slaves indiscriminately working them cruelly until they die. They are noted for their skill upon the sea, and, before the Sea Wolves were vanquished, only the Krolvin were feared more.

Most Krolvin by nature are excellent fighters who have little to fear while about in Elanthia. Coming from a race of war-like people, they are greatly feared in both armed and magical combat.

The Krolvin are also known for their menacing ships of Krolvin slave merchants that sailed the seas around Elanthia. The Krolvin have always been at the forefront of any slaving activity, mercilessly punishing any others who attempt to take over the slaving activity.

The Krolvin have no use for trade. They take what they want.

Krolvin are immune to cold, probably because they come from a frozen island Northwest of Pinefar.

Eregrek says, "Trudok....I have business to attend to with the elves..."

Eregrek says, "You delay it."

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok say, "Return to Glaeveln and report about the......."

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok ask, "Business with the elves?"

You hear the ghostly voice of Trudok say, "They were warned."

A Krolvin Warship
A Post by Tayvin #181 April 18, 2003

A sail appears astern. The sleek, twin-masted vessel rapidly draws closer to the Glaesen Star.

The sleek, twin-masted warship is clearly of krolvin design. Evidence of prior combat...tightly patched planks and scarred timbers...are discernable beneath the dark green paint on the ship's hull. Krolvin archers hang easily from the rigging and stand guard on the deck.

As the vessel approaches, a pennant can be seen flying boldly from the mainmast.

The angular design and the colors of the flag clearly indicates it is a krolvin ship.

Eregrek exclaims, "Prepare to defend!"

The krolvin vessel approaches quickly, drawing alongside the Glaesen Star.

Dozens of krolvin can be seen milling about excitedly on deck. Krolvin archers teeter precariously in the ship's rigging.

The krolvin warship matches the speed of the Star.

Some of the krolvin on deck begin to twirl grappling hooks.

The krolvin bark and howl with feral excitement.

Grappling hooks arc across the space between the two ships and land on the railing of the Star.

Krolvin pull powerfully, easing the ships closer together.

A netting of boarding rigging is spread between the ships, over which the krolvin begin to scramble.

Bloodmaster Khortal came across some boarding rigging.

Stormcrow Akhri came across some boarding rigging.

Bloodmaster Klaagh came across some boarding rigging.

Bloodfist Sankir came across some boarding rigging.

Bloodmaster Katchakya came across some boarding rigging.

Stormcrow Gkig's group came across some boarding rigging.

The Czag Dubra's Tent

[Czag Dubra's Tent]

Carved thanot poles frame the perimeter of the spartan tent, the interior enclosed by walls of dyed burlap. The packed dirt floor appears to be routinely swept and a rectangular woven reed mat has been laid next to a simple wooden chair in the midst of the tent. An imposing desk covered with partly-furled maps, scrolls, and papers resides in a corner, facing the burly Krolvin guards standing guard near the tent's flap, their observant eyes belying their relaxed poses.

You also see the Biggan disk, the Teeoncy disk, the Daktoth disk, the Vaktof disk and the Angelilly disk.

Fortuneer Tempton Speaks about
a Krolvin Pirate named Scar Beard

The Fortuneer Tempton told about a trip he was taking to Teras to investigate a Krolvin pirate named Scar Beard, that all were welcome to come and that he would be hiring an alterer, Grifto, to do work among a selection of those that had received one of the medals. On the eve of Charlatos 14th, several people set sail on the Glaesen Star to Teras Isle, with the Fortuneer Tempton and Thadz.

Once there, they split up. Unfortunately, several people were taken and tortured by Krolvin except for one who was to give a message from the leader, Czag Dubra Moradga that everyone was going to die. The Dwarven Emissary Ralguran from Zul Logoth was one of the people taken. He was tortured, killed, found, raised and then taken again. The Fortuneer Tempton was also taken by the Krolvin.

Over the course of the next few days, the Krolvin have been attacking and eventually gave the ultimatum that the citizens could either get off the island or die. Tempton was rescued by the daring trick of several adventures where they told the Krolvin they would trade a weapon of "mass destruction" in exchange for Tempton. When Tempton's release was secured, the group ran for and made the safety of the Glaesen Star. On board, Tempton stated that the Krolvin would not stop with just Teras and that their goal would be control of all of Elanthia.

For Complete Story

The Following Information by: Seablade SeaDolfins

Tempton the fortuneer stopped by today to relay information on our quest, but some of it may be of interest to you. Most specifically information he related in terms of the Bloodfist name and what it implies.

We had been studying Sankir for a while due to a resemblance that he bore to another Krolvin out of history that we were interested in. This and Tempton's capture has led to a discovery of sorts.

Sankir apparently may not even be on Teras. What has been fought on Teras has been shadows of himself, in a way. He apparently has the ability to summon these shadows and they can speak, fight and kill as if they were him, but if they are killed, it does not affect him.

This apparently has something to do with the name of Bloodfist, but what the exact connection is, we are not sure. Though the pirate were studying in history apparently died on more than one occasion according to Tempton's research and may have had similar abilities.

As of now, if the body of Sankir vanishes in a puff of smoke it is a good bet that it was a shadow of him, and apparently he may not even be on Teras itself, but may be some distance away. But we are not really sure. Keep your eyes open for the real Sankir to kill though, hopefully this information will be of some use.

The Krolvin Attack

Soon after Wehnimer's Landing was founded, the human empress immediately dispatched three emissaries to make contact with the Krolvin and establish trade. These emissaries traveled through the Landing on their way to the Krolvin nation.

The three emissaries returned in six sacks, borne at the vanguard of a Krolvin war party. The Krolvin have no use for trade. They take what they want. The citizens of the Landing were hard-pressed to defend it. Though many accomplished warriors, wizards and the like called Wehnimer's home, they were vastly outnumbered. It appeared that the Landing would fall.

Talbot Dabbings saved the day. As the gates were breached, the halfing warrior was able to slip past the enemy unnoticed. In the confusion, he made his way through the enemy lines heading toward the Krolvin war-leader. Leaping from his hiding place behind a water-barrel, Talbot slew the Krolvin.

Two things then happened almost immediately. First, Talbot was killed. Second, the remaining Krolvin began to argue over who should be the new war-leader. This argument took over two days to resolve. By that time, the Empress had sent reinforcements. The Krolvin boarded their ships and left - but few doubt that they will try again.

Karsch Speaks about the Krolvin Homeland

Post 620 June 25, 2003

In a private conversation, Karsch was asked about the Krolvin homeland.

Karsch: "It has been many, many years since I have been there. I have been aboard ships and at war for most of my life, since I was very young."

Karsch: "My memories are tainted and flawed by those years of hardship and toil."

Is that common for your people?

Karsch: "For skilled warriors and soldiers? Yes."

"What is the option of life fer those of your kind who cannot perform well in warfare?"

Karsch: "Every society needs its craftsmen. They grow and harvest crops, build ships, forge weapons, much as any other people."

"Were yer parents warriors? Do ya have a caste system as some societies have? Yer born into the role you live?"

Karsch: "All of those are options, just as among humans. The Krolvin are spread across several areas far to the west. Each area is different."

"Aye? How is each different? The geography? the cultures?"

Karsch: "I was, personally, an orphan. Adopted by a ship's captain as a young child. I served as his aide and cabin boy for many years, until we were boarded."

Karsch: "A combination of both. Terrain is diverse, even to the west

Karsch: "Were I able to return to the Krolvin nation, perhaps. That remains to be seen, if it is a possibility at all."

"How is the nation ruled with these four realms within it? Do you have a sovereign like ourselves?"

Karsch: "I mentioned no specific number of realms. But, humans govern a large area with kings and baronies... Krolvin government is similar. I am, understandably, I hope, reluctant to share the details with a non-Krolvin, for fear of reprisals being made against my people for Sankir's actions."

Karsch: "With your queries? Discussing my people is difficult, honestly. I have spent so much of my life at sea, that I truly do not know much of my people's histories and customs."
